Enough

Enough
Starstruck

God of birdsong and budding plants
God of broken hearts and empty bellies
God of blue skies and nourishing rain
God of bomb sites and gravesides
God of first loves and kitten nuzzles
God of hospital stays and deferred care
God of research and curiosity
God of silence and lost opportunity
God of impossible dreams and meaningful connection

God of yesterday,
        in the memories carried,
        in the time lost,
in the stories to be told
and the paths that were forged
God of today,
        in its smallness,
        in its gravity,
        in its forgotten hours,
        in its life changing seconds
God of tomorrow,
        in its unseen joy,
        its not yet sorrow,
        its potential hope,
        its inescapable pain

God of creation, of history
God of minor frustrations
God of small moments of joy
God of tragedy multiplied
God of grand victories and suffering ended

Witness to it all,
chief griever and rejoicer,
inviting us to join
Your Spirit guiding,
present and active
Ours to recognize,
and attend to
for the good of the whole

This small piece, this life of ours,
this is where we make your Spirit known
Taking not too little
and not too much
Giving not too little
and not too much
For we are not God
And still we are enough
